SPOTTED: Aurora’s at Vyta a Villa Borghese 27 June 2017 – Posted in: Spotted – Tags: , , , , , , , ,

VyTA Santa Margherita, designed by COLLIDANIELARCHITETTO is located at Rome’s Casa del Cinema (House of Cinema) in Villa Borghese, the city’s beating green heart and a 17th century Italian masterpiece. It is a brand new Italian cafe, bakery and fine restaurant that you will find on the ground floor.

Architect Daniella Colli really staid true to the origin of the building with the deeply-rooted cinematographic inspiration. In her own words: ”the pixel is the star.” This can be seen in the pixel-like wall decoration, images of Italian actors/icons of the “Dolce Vita” on the walls and of course the retro lightbulb in our very own Aurora lights, reminiscent of dressing room mirrors.

Raw metals were used for the interior, just as brushed wood and marble floors – a perfect combination of precious and industrial materials. Even the slightest details were paid attention to. For example the newspapers and books about cinema that are available in the coffee corner. ”Intriguing in its striking expressivity, VyTA Santa Margherita is a flexible and dynamic venue, where conviviality meets the world of cinema and the beauty of Rome’s cultural and landscape heritage” (Daniella Colli).
